JL Audio f110v2 .... Right fit for my small room?

I am thinking about subwoofers. Used to have a pair of REL B2 subs (10 inch drivers). Sold them year or two ago.

My room is small, as depicted in attached photos. I always prefer a pair of subs. Don't know if my room can accommodate pair of the JL subs. My bass is nice, tight tuneful. Im looking for deeper extension and more slam at lower listening levels. Kinda of a "loudness" effect as i typically listen at low volumes. Generally, between 0.5 and 5 watts on MC501 meters. Doesn't take a lot of power to sound loud in my small square room. Im sure I have bass cancellation issues. Even when I had (4) 10 " woofers the bass was never over powering.

I can fit the f110, right front or side of room. Between right channel Sophia 3 and LPs with woofer facing listening chair. Or in front of LPs, between speaker and K01X with woofer firing across the room, right to left.


Only way I could fit a 2nd sub is to place it along middle of left hand wall, between door and left speaker, woofer firing across room, left to right. In a dual sub scenario, the subs would be facing each other across the room, either directly or offset a few inches or a foot or so. Would this cause an unnatural bass hump or cancellation (woofers facing each other ... About 9 ft across room from each other).

What would y'all expect to be the best solution?

Jason... even taking note of your small room, I would still put in a pair of F110's. The gains from a pair of subs cannot be overlooked. They will more evenly pressurize the room, and will blend in transparently with your mains.

I have done many installs with them on side walls, with very positive results.

Jason.......You might consider the new JL Audio E110 subwoofer. It is a slightly smaller form factor and may be easier to integrate into your space. Pete (Vintage Pete) recently added an E110 to his office system. I heard it a few weeks ago and it is an amazing sounding subwoofer. You might want to check it out.

Appreciate the input gentlemen, one and all. If I go with subs, I want DARO, which means fathom v2. Will deliberate single vs pair. Space considerations are paramount. Maybe start with a single, see how things improve. Or just go for the Grail with a pair out of the gate. I very much preferred it when I got my 2nd REL as opposed to single. Very glad to know subs facing each other on opposite sidewalls can be done successfully. Small rooms are always about compromising.

I have a small room also and one f113 is really working out for me. Integration has not been a problem. I tried 2 smaller jbl subs without success.

Yes, I am truly impressed with the Jl Audio f113. It is musical. It seems there is a whole other world of detail below 80 . With the lesser subs I was just getting rumble.. I am not referencing the Svs subs as I have never tried them.

jrbrow, Completely out of context, but from the posted pictures it looks like the PS power plants are directly on the carpet, if they are, I believe I read sometime that it wasn't 100% recommended, and needed just something in between to isolate from the possible static, etc.

Please check with Ivan though.

Thanks Krusty. Good to know. The P10's are sitting on Stillpoints Ultra SS with stock feet removed. I am planning on putting Ultra Bases under SS for additional stability this week. I took off the stock feet for a cleaner look.
