Jeff.......The PMC IB2i is the one speaker I would consider replacing my EB1i's or my SF Guarneri Memento's with. Looking forward to your comments.

Dan....,

May I ask for what reason you would consider changing the EB1i for the IB2i ?
I know that the medium driver of the IB2i is supposed to handle more power but the lower inbox volume should give less bass extension. Maybe that you don't really care about bass extension actually because you're using a sub....

Jérôme.......Actually, on second thought, I would be quicker to replace the Memento's than the EB1i's.

The IB2i is superior to the EB1i in every way except one... That one aspect being that you can get a little more SPL capability in the 8-15hz region... With that in mind the IB2i's subsonic performance is nothing short of remarkable in its own right. That said the overall transparency and power handling capability of the PMC 75mm soft-dome midrange is staggering. This speaker is actually our road king. We can take it anywhere and dethrone speakers at twice the price...

Ian, how is the 75mm soft dome mid-range used in the IB2i so much different than the 75mm soft dome used in the EB1i?
