Default ARC Ref 10, issue

The day after one listen, so the hour meter had gone from about 275h to about 1050h?!?

What could have happened? Anyone been through this or something similar? It feels like I should reset the meter and start over, even if it also goes wrong, I will then simply have +275 h in memory so I know when it comes time to replace the tube's, or?

Did you by any chance touch the unit with out grounding yourself and possibly sent some static electricity to the computer board.

I had a strange issue with my ARC Pre where I was hearing sound while it was on mute and when I kicked it out of mute it dam near blew me out of the room.

I powered off the unit and called my dealer who in turn called ARC. They suggested that I unplug it for a few minutes and reboot. It has been fine since. It was ARC that suggested it could be the static issue. Generally I ground myself on the audio rack prior to touching my equipment.

I would have your dealer contact ARC. I would personally reset the meter as well and monitor on a go forward. If something strange happens again have ARC put it on the bench to take a look.

I turned it off as usual with the remote and turned it on the same day. So I have not done anything that could have affected it in any way because I find it odd that this could happen .

I reset and see if it can happen again , and it would happen again so I can contact the ARC .

Himm, interesting. I thought it was me. While I was burning in the unit hence checking tube hours every day, it jumped from +275 to +500 hours next day. Since then, it never failed so I offset +200 hours from the current figure.

I had this problem twice with my Ref10 and each time I reset the meter to "0"

I used Ph7, Ref2 SE, Ref 3, and currently having Ref 10 pre, Ref 10 phono, Ref 610T (since 2007). Ref 10 preamp is the only ARC unit having this issue. All others never had a similar case. I also monitor Ref 10 phono very closely since topologies are similar.

Just for fun you might want to give ARC a call and see what they have to say about it and find out if perhaps they've root caused it.

Before you reset, try unplugging the unit first.
Just turning it off and on with the remote is not the same thing

Aha, many who have or have had the problem with ref 10, should be a problem as ARC knows?
I would be glad if any of you contacted the ARC in question, this is because I think that my English is too poor, and in particular the technical English But I would like to hear the answer you get Anyone feel like helping?

Unfortunately I've already reset hour meter.
