My dealer carries the Sim line and they are pretty enthusiastic about this player but from reading this review it sounds like it is very resolving with good dynamic range and impressive soundstaging/imaging but at the expense ultimately of a musical presentation, which is the case with so many digital players. I will certainly give it a listen at my dealer's (maybe this Thursday when I finally pick up my ARC Ref 110 as it will be back from ARC by then) and if I get a chance to listen to it, I will report back to folks here if interested. I know Jeff Gorgay from Tone Audio is going to publish a review this pretty soon as well, but his initial impressions were positive.

All of the Simaudio gear that I have heard or owned has been top notch. The local dealer no longer brings in the top pieces so it is hard to get a listen any more.

Jim...I agree. I had their i-7, P7/W7, and Supernova CD in the past for about a week, and I just had the W8 power amp for 3 wks as a loaner while my ARC unit was back for service and they are very transparent, clean and precise gear (i still missed my REF 110 though ).
