Default Isolation Footers | Platform Options.

Hi All,

As someone late to the Aurender servers, yet loving what I’m currently hearing | would love to enhance upon its capabilities even more….., as an avid proponent of isolation footers | platforms | devices, I’m trying to see what other users have used underneath their servers with said improvement in sound quality?.

I’m one of those types which tries to pay detail to all the littlest of things as it comes to voicing my system by ear……., and have found a set of Stillpoints Ultra SS to be much to large as well high to be used on my custom sized Sound Anchors stand | have been researching options like the Oyaide INS-BS | INS-CF ( carbon fiber pucks ) as well as thinking along the lines of say a Symposium Acoustics Svelte Plus Platform, yet am open-minded enough to hear what others have to say?.

I’m very very content with the hardware side of things, yet when it comes to items like isolation devices | cabling loom, I’m always seemingly more active at following these items, as with cables, I’ve recently discovered in my system, using my ears ( and heart, which gauges the overall emotional response to the music itself ) as a means of letting me know, that for me……., pure silver or silver plated copper IC’s are what brings me a sense of enlightenment, of which copper just doesn’t do anything for me……, yet when it comes to cables like USB cables, I tend to own various flavors, as I believe no one flavor suits all | there are times where either pure copper | silver plated copper | pure silver each bring about a certain something extra.

I’d love to add….., as someone whom came out of the early 2000s, dedicated to the likes of Ebony Wood isolation footers from the likes of either Shun Mook, or Yamamoto Sound Craft, and currently very very taken with ball bearing type of isolation footers, I’m once again merely seeking something different, if you’ll.

So I’d ask that each of you dig deep | assist this newcomer to the Aurender family, in knowing what’s what?, or do I simply leave well enough at that?.

TIA!.

Be well | Stay safe.

I recently added another set of Wave Kinetics A10 U8s to my system. I’m a big fan. What really surprised me was after upgrading from Herbies and Iso Acoustics, was once I put the last set in my system, it went from additive to multiplicative. Each component was a small increase, once the 6th and final component was resting on them, it was a drastic change. I guess the weakest link was holding it back.

Compared to no footers (stock), Herbies tender feet, and Iso Acoustics Orea. The Wave Kinetics A10 U8 and A10 U8R offered a lot.

Top to bottom more detail. The macro detail captures your attention. The micro detail, the subtle details—between the notes—keeps you in the sweet spot for hours.

Soundstage is enveloping in a natural way. Often it seems like an effect when a 2 channel system sounds like there are speakers behind you. Not with the Wave Kinetics, it’s a musical environment.

Texture on the bass. This is hard to describe. Similar to listening and feeling thunder rolling over a hill. You can feel and hear the bass textures and nuance.

I’ve gotten the rest of my system basically sorted, so upgrading the weakest link (footers) made a massive difference.

It’s hard to sit down and analyze now—get pushed into what I imagine a drug trip feels like.

If you like the ball bearing type, these are a hybrid? They have hundreds of small ball bearings in a soft dome that is in a metal cup.

Under the Innuos ZENith MK3 they offered an improvement, I’m guessing the Aurender will benefit as well.

After putting a Silent Running isolation platform under my Linn LP12 and hearing a really good improvement I wished to move forward with improving isolation under my other equipment. However, because of a home remodel more platforms were out of the question. So I bought Nobsound spring isolators for all my equipment. While less sophisticated they are really a great value… and surprisingly adjustable to component weight. At less than $10 / spring I got around 24 for my components.

I went through my heavy analysis / experimentation phase decades ago. I just adjusted them to the loads and put them under my Aurender, Preamp, Amp… ect. Overall, a nice improvement in sound… maybe on the order of a direct line… a bit less. For the price, really cost effective. But I did not try one component at a time.
