Default AQ Wel Signature speaker cables purchased

I went ahead and did it. The Alexxes deserve the best so I have bought some solid silver top line speaker cables from AQ. Will send pics as well as my new D1100 and rest of system when they arrive. Should be arriving shortly, couple of weeks. These cables other than my speakers will be the most expensive component in my system.

I had previously ordered a couple of AQ diamond optical cables which haven't arrived. Since I have run out of money they threw these in for "free". Nice

Wow! Congratulations!

I understood they were discontinued because of the replacements that are coming at the end of the year. The WEL speaker cables haven't been on the Audioquest website or retail price book for a few months.

Audioquest is still accepting orders for them?
Was any kind of special deal arranged because of their removal from the catalog?

I was wondering that as well (hah)!
Nonetheless, based on my 2x Kilimanjaro run, these are fantastic speaker cables that will elevate your speakers to the next level. I'm about to complete a full run of WEL Signature phono and interconnect cables.

To answer the question: I don't know. I specified to my dealer Wel Signature 8 feet and that is what is coming. They are very expensive. I hope the analog 7m balanced AQ Wel IC's will still be available when I can afford them so that I can have all "Signature" beginning with my preamp. My overall aim is to have solid silver AQ from source to speaker. I haven't upgraded cables in many years. I think copper cables are great and I will have to put up with them for awhile longer but I would like to experience all solid silver with the Alexx. I'll post pics.

Congratulations, again.

I love the WEL interconnects I have and would love to hear the speaker cables, eventually. The interconnects are probably the best I’ve heard and I can’t imagine what the speaker cables are like.

I hope you’ll post how they perform versus whatever you are using, now.

WOW - 8ft of that stuff listed at $31K ($900 + $3800 per foot); even if a hearty discount is applied that's quite the serious investment! I had once flirted with a 3ft or 4ft order, but even that was just too much for me.

From what bits I've heard/owned of the WEL Signature line - it brings out the detail in SPADES, but still presents it in a very natural, non-strident way. I love the stuff.

Ah another wel owner.

I too have the wel sig speaker wire in 8foot single biwire to bananas on both ends.

AQ is coming out with a new line end of the year. But who knows how costly that’ll be!

Let me know how you like it because I like mine immensely.

I will have aq wind as interconnects and I have four wel nrg power cords... so like you I am silver top to tbottom.

I certainly will let everyone know how they sound. It appears AQ has quite a following on AA. I never dreamed it so. I have never been much into cables myself but I am really looking forward to these Wel cables. I am also looking forward to new Wel IC's. However, my sub woofer system will remain Kimber Select copper. So KK copper select for the Thor/1.25KW and eventually all solid silver from source to the Alexx.
