* Regarding that CD mat; why don't they put a mat on all CDs in the first place, if the sound truly improves???

Perhaps that's why they invented SACDs?

Also, are CD players designed to accept CDs with a mat on top of them???

Plus, that CD 'test tone' to improve and clean whatever; why don't they put that 'test tone' on all CDs at their beginning?

You know a system plays noise coming out of the box. Teaching it to play music is far more difficult.

I would have no problem trying it on a platter/puck style player like the 089 as opposed to a drawer style player.
