Sophia 1 advice please
Bought some sophia 1's which i am trying to integrate into my system. right now they are positioned with the tweeters 22" from 2"' acoustic panel on side walls and the tweeters are 47" into room. room is 18x13x8- 5 sided opens to hallway with small room on other side. corner traps behind sophias with various panels along most of side wall with one 7 element diffuser in the middle -had bad slap echo- room sounds decent now. have simaudio w7-300 watts at 4 ohms, cj act2.2 pre,sim supernova cdp, synergistic research tesla precesion ref cables and jps sc 3 interconnects.
Sound is a little strident, mids could be warmer and depth could be deeper? would like to improve these areas. worried if i changed amp to tubes i would lose slam and attack although decay would be better. prefer solutions in changing sound treatment or wires to changing components. my w7 amp runs cool which i love during the summer. All sugestions deeply appreciated, thanks in advance.

PS reviews indicate WA speaker placements far less than 3 feet away from sidewall which was typically tauted because of 5-6 millisecond delay in side reflection time being needed. do any of you place speakers more conventionally around 3 feet from side walls??

I listen to people all day long at work and can easily recognize true interest and effort. The fact that your speakers smoke most of the competition doesn't hurt.........
