Still have the 5910?... even know it is 5 years since you asked the question. I still use mine for standard dvd concerts. The only issue is that the older HDMI does not play nice with the newer technology.

I still use mine all the time. Mainly SACD and DVD-A. However, with the Blu-Ray audio and just for general clutter clean up I am thinking about the Oppo 105 and be done with multiple decks.....The 5910 has been awesome since I bought it new years ago.

I am trying to talk my self into taking it out of my system to free up that spot on the rack, I'm just having a hard time doing it because the rare times I watch a DVD nothing I have seems to upsample as well.

I have the 2910, and it stays. Working, rock solid, out at the hangar.

Got my 2910 as well and it's still in the rack. I use it more as a CD player now than a DVD player on those rare times I play a CD. Not sure why I still have it but I can't seem to let it go! LOL

Trying to decide if the 2910 is worth fixing.....doesn't sync anymore but used mainly for CD's via MyDac....not a bad unit, but growing hair that's for sure.

Thanks

Saw the 5910 at a local hi fi store for $100.00 in good shape. How fast technology marches on.

I sold mine a couple of years ago for probably $600-$700 on ebay and still thought it sounded good in comparison with my oppo bdp-95. Not better, but I'd say as good, quite frankly - just a different sound due to different DAC chips.
For $100, I wonder how it compares with today's players under $1000.

I still have a 5910 and use it as a CD player in the shop/garage system. It sounds good!
