Anyone compared the Denon AH-D7000 to Sennheiser 800hd?
Just wondering if you guys have had the chance to compare the two.

I wonder why Sennheiser chose to print High Definition Driver 300 Ohms (symbol) on their headphones. Who cares. The sound is what matters, and I can't see the writing when they're on my head anyway. It reminds me of seeing the factory silver stick on letters on the trunk of a Chevrolet saying EFI and ABS. Ok, it runs good, and it stops good. It would still do that without the advertising hype, right? How about the name Sennheiser printed on the frames. That speaks for itself. The hype seems sort of rediculous on headphones of this caliber.

I just bought the Denon. I am running it in over the weekend before I do some listening. I got a really really good deal on a new unit. I'm just wondering if the HD800 are $1400 good. I know for what I paid the Denon should be unbeatable.
Nothing against the Chinese because I'm Chinese.  . But the Made in China label for a top of the line Japanese headphone burst my bubble.

I just bought a pair of HD800 and im very happy with them thus far, but the sound "leaking" to the outsiders can be annoying. The bass doesn't punch as much as I would like and I might try the Denon, but would love to hear a comparison from someone who has listened to both.

I have them both. The Denons are very musical and seem to mate well better with an EAR HP 4, but the combination of the B-52 and HD 800's properly cabled is simply sublime. Bear in mind that the proper cabling of the 800's can exceed the price of the headphones themselves! Very satisfying sound can be acheived with the Denons and a less expensive amp, such as an RSA Raptor or Elekit.
