Your dissatisfaction can best be conveyed to McIntosh through your wallet. Complaining or arguing with other McIntosh owners about it is what's really irrelevant.

Hey..........I'm just voicing my opinion here and that's what I did.

Replying to an irrelevant personal statement why I own an Oppo is not complaining or arguing. McIntosh is an iconic American company and Oppo is not.

Happy Listening!

I like Mcintosh because it's American made. Without Made in USA, it's just another Chinese import. I like my OPPO player just fine, but I don't consider it to be special. I do not have brand loyalty to any Chinese products; even my apple iphone is disposable.

Don't get me wrong, China makes some damn good products. I just have a patriotic sense of USA made goods.
Think of Craftsman tools. Moving manufacturing to China signified a race to the bottom. The tool's quality was sacrificed.
I never needed good tools, but when I was shopping for mine I paid more for Craftsman over Husky and Kobalt.
Now that it's all chinese and Sears hit rock bottom I've moved onto another USA made tool, SK (ironically it's owned by a French company and made in the USA).

I'm not boycotting Mc over this, but it does signal that McIntosh is moving slightly away from an audiophile company, and positioning itself slightly more like Bose and Bang and Olufsen.

I think some of you are missing the real point. I will never buy a McIntosh product that is made in China either, but there are a number of people who don't care one way or another where an item is made or what we think. So, in this case, I think you're preaching to the choir. The majority of the Lifestyle items aren't meant to fit into McIntosh's core audiophile product line and don't generate a ton of interest from the people who frequent this forum. I'm guessing that the company knows this and made the decision to use outside contract manufacturers for these items so that they can get the largest return on their R&D & Marketing investment. It's a strategy that many companies experiment with. Suggesting that McIntosh might be planning on moving all of their product manufacturing to China is pure speculation and doesn't warrant much discussion on this forum, in my opinion.

McIntosh has dedicated American workers that have been with the company for decades and that's how they treat these skilled American workers...............by taking away American jobs and using cheap labor in China to improve there bottom line.

Poor decision in my book.

The workers in Binghamton currently have enough products to keep them more than busy. Factory capacity has to be about full. Putting none core line products in other factories has little to no affect on the workers in Binghamton. In fact, it might actually help them by providing more money to support development of new core line products in the future. That's what they need for future job security.
