Another thing about McIntosh equipment is that it tends to hold its value better than most other brands. So if you get the bug to change, you won't lose your shirt in the process.

I have (2) MC-275MKVI. Funny thing is I haven’t had an opportunity to use them. They are still boxed due to relocation. I also have a D150 - boxed as well. I’d like to use my TT, but it seems I must purchase another preamplifier. Suggestions?

I'm really enjoying my MC275VI. So far I am using the 8 ohm taps on speakers rated between 8 and 16 ohms. I was thinking of trying the 8 ohm taps to see how it affects the sound. However, I was wondering if going to the 16 ohm tap will make the MC275 run hotter than on the 8 ohm taps. Anyone try this or have a thought on the possible temp affect on the MC275?

My sonus Faber is nominally 6 ohms. I noticed that on the Mc275 the speakers are louder on 8 but hotter, on the other hand it is softer but runs cooler on the 4 ohm tap .... or it’s the other way around.. point is there’s a difference. It’s sitting on 8ohm taps now.

Hi everyone!

I would like to know if it is a good option to amplify my speakers (PMC Twenty5 23) with a MC275.
I recently purchased a MB50 streamer and I'm using it as a preamplifier with the PMC COR IA like amplifier.
I am absolutely in love with the MC275 but I do not know if it would fit well in my current system or if on the contrary I would be taking a step back in terms of sound.
I mainly listen to 70's rock, instrumental and some heavy metal
Thank you very much in advance
Best regards
Ricard

Default MC275 club

I’ve heard the MC275 with twenty.23’s and it sounded great, so much so that it made me buy their little brother, the twenty.21’s. At the time, I had a small McIntosh integrated but have since moved to the MC275VI which makes them sing. I plan to get the twenty5.23’s later this year and have no hesitation regarding the MC275’s ability to drive that speaker..

Personally, I think the 275 is almost impossible to beat. Incredible amp that almost anyone can afford. Relative to tube amplification, look no further.
