VPI dust cover?
I'm about to buy a VPI TT, most likely a Scout 1.1. What do you VPI owners do for a dust cover? I really hate to spend another $400 for that ugly Gingko cover! Is there a less expensive but effective solution?

John, One of my turntables is a VPI Scoutmaster and I'm using a Gingko dustcover just like this one . . . I think that the one that sits on top of the tt is much better looking than the one that goes all the way to the shelf.
I actually like this dustcover and think it looks good.

That does look better than the "museum piece" style that I have seen! I must say, though, that the built-in hinged cover of the Pro-Ject Xtenstion 10 is very appealing...
 I would imagine that they offer comparable performance.

Maybe I've been around too long, and maybe things have changed, but I've heard many times that an attached dust cover is a source of, and a collector of, vibration that certainly does nothing to enhance the sound. Therefore, I prefer a removable cover that I set aside when playing records.
