It's nice to see this thread get a bump. I really liked the vintage Kenwood gear too. I didn't own any but used to marvel at it all the time. The KA-9100 and KA-9150 look real nice.

I'm still a Kenwood Owner!
Funny you should mention it . . .
At one point I had an "all Kenwood" system, preamp, pair of mono amps and a KENWOOD L-07 TII Tuner. Somehow, I never sold the tuner and still have it . . . I haven't plugged it in for probably 10 years, but there it sits in all its highly touted glory. (This is not a picture of my unit, but mine looks just like this one) The amps and preamp were from the same series as the tuner, and I recall that they sounded fairly good. i bought all new in the early to mid 80's
