Default Per Component vs. Rack

As anyone compared using a set of Stillpoints at the base of your Hifi rack vs. each individual component?

Surely at the base of the rack, then every component would benefit from the technology?

Which models would be best to use underneath a rack? My rack has 6 legs, and the total weight including components is +- 380 pounds

My understanding is that stillpoints are more effective when applied closer to the component that is trying to be improved. Stillpoints work in two ways....they take the vibration from the environment and turn it to heat before it reaches your component, but they also take the vibration from the component itself and turn it to heat as well. If placed at the rack only, I believe the second part of their design would be limited greatly.

Did I explain this correctly?
