I'm not sad at all, life goes on. I'm just as happy listening to my Luxman and Harbeth setup without the dedicated room or treatments.

I would never do a project like that again and would never spend the kind of coin I once did on this hobby but I completely understand those that want to maximize the potential of their systems and a dedicated or at least a fully treated room is the way to do just that.

Very beautifully done...Sounds and looks incredible!!

Quick question, what wire did you use to run from your head end to the speakers??

I only trusted Transparent Audio for those long runs (with the network boxes) as the long runs are compensated for. When I switched to Wilson and D’Agostino I also ran Transparent but that time on a higher rung of their pricing ladder. Let’s just say I spent less money on my first house than that system... I’ve had my fun to last me a lifetime.

Truly a work of art Serge, well done! You obviously put a lot of time, effort and money into it and were richly rewarded for it. Looks like you’re now enjoying from a different perspective...

I agree 100%...my last home theater was fully treated, and it was the best upgrade, period!

Very fine indeed Serge. If I ever get a dedicated room you can come design the treatment for me.

Wow Serge! Quite impressive. I am sure it gave you many hours of enjoyment. I especially like and respect your perspective on the audio journey and where you are now.

It’s very easy for many of us to get caught up with the excitement of a dedicated room build and constant upgrading of gear. I am of course, guilty of that practice, no thanks to enablers like Ivan !

The fact that you are happy with what you have now, knowing that you have had much more expensive gear and rooms is a really good statement.

You and I have spoken at length regarding the Luxman gear. I’m glad it still brings you much satisfaction.

Tony,
Given my experience with this whole thing, I would tell you to reconsider and instead enjoy music with your spouse/family in an open floor plan where you are free to move about and enjoy other activities, dinner, wine, whatever. Other than us nutty audiophiles, no one wants to be locked into a room and sit in the chair listening to music. Most normal folks find that very unappealing and boring in no time. Yes my family enjoyed watching movies but a nice big screen TV is just as good for the normal folks. I find it liberating these days to be able to enjoy my other hobbies and tinkering with stuff as the favorite music is playing in the background. I’m burned out from sitting in the chair gazing into the soundstage and contemplating my next upgrade in the endless bouts of audiophile nirvosa. Done with that for good.
