How to condition/filter coaxial cable line?

I'm going to ditch my free Panamax for a better power conditioner, but I have some noise coming through my cable line. My Panamax makes it sound silent. With the Panamax gone, what do I use in it's place for my cable TV line?

If it matters the old Panamax unit is M5400-EX.
I'm begrudgingly considering the MPC-1500. I have the MX122 and MC8207 and the MPC1500 will look pretty with my system and must be an improvement in sound. However there are probably much better performing conditioners, not as pretty and won't match the pretty mc look, and they also won't filter my coaxial cable.

For guys not familiar with the MPC1500 it only filters noise coming from the power, it doesn't filter noise between components connected to it.

If you have noise coming in off your cable line -- check the cable ground at your entrance point on the outside of the house. It could be loose or who knows what else. Worth a look IMO.

You will need a "TV ground loop isolator".
These devices isolate the cable ground from your equipment ground.
Even with proper cable grounding (usually NOT the case in most residential applications) you can still get hum and noise coming from the cable into your system.

Get the cable company to ground their lines properly. I had the same problem and they fixed it by putting a ground rod in the earth outside my house.

My main floor has no noise coming into the receiver, but the basement home theater does. Does that still mean it isn't grounded right coming in?

Finding solutions to ground noise issues is tough to troubleshoot via internet forums.

First, check the outdoor source where the signal comes to your house. Is there a ground bus (wire to rod in the earth)? If not, I'd have your cable company come out and help you troubleshoot. They should install a ground rod at their expense.

If there is still an unresolved issue, I would look into a "TV ground loop isolator" as W9TR suggested. Or, since your problem is solved by a good power conditioner that has a loop for your cable feed, upgrade your Panamax to something better. I think a good Furman will do the job, but there are a lot of power conditioner options out there.

Ultimately, if things work with the Panamax, why are you doing anything different? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
