Default Need your help guys, can I get any Hi Fi tinge for $4K?

As you all know, I'm a radio (70%) and CD (30%) guy, so before I bite the bullet on the R7, are there any separates with speakers I can get for around the above price? In blighty the Cyrus CD1 with the Rega Elex r amp both get high scores with speakers such as the Neat Iota, or something a little more modest, and say a Rotel tuner, this combo will strike around this price. I know it's far below the normal sound grade here, but might make an acceptable studio system for me.

It can't blow the doors off, I like an emotive sound, and it has to perform at low to mid volume. I know hi fi likes volume, but my neighbors don't. Any ideas?

I missed that - no, it doesn’t have FM. It has one analog (RCA) and multiple digital inputs, as well as built-in streaming, from your own files as well as Tidal, Qobuz and Spotify. No tuner, but you can of course stream internet radio or add a tuner.

Cyrus Lyric? It sounds good and does every thing plus kitchen sink. Sounded really good with a pair of Sonus Faber Venere

I can get a cracking deal on the new version, the Lyric three with speakers, but some reviewers hint at a dry sound, which Sonus and Focal should ameliorate. However their CD1 get's terrible reviews for reliability. Some of the top endish Yamaha amps get rosy reviews for that old darlin' holographic sound stage, good at low volume, and they seem to be built for the long run. Might go in that direction. If I can be bothered with boxes and cabinets. I can test the Yamaha's, probably not the Lyric. Mind you I was very happy with me R4 with some Scandinavian trance music last night, so the R7 is still in the picture. I've got some time off, let's see what ye olde hi fi vendors can produce. I need warmth, not excessive bass, and emotion. Cold dry and analytical, no thanks.

Check out the Dynaudio XEO series speakers.

Powered, built in amps, DAC, etc. just add source and enjoy.

I love my pair in the office.

My suggestion is also Dynaudio XEO. Given the budget constraints, this solution is brilliant, especially that you mentioned "studio", "low to mid volume". No need to look for separates when everything you need is in the speaker.

Step into the future of home audio integration. Take a look. https://youtu.be/vWXnAknu9iA
