Hearing the original Cremona is what got me interested in the SF brand. A beautiful musical sounding speaker in my opinion. Don’t let them out of your hands.

I always knew my Cremona Auditors had potential. That’s why I have kept them for 10 years and have attempted to mate different amps to them, though always unsuccessful. I just paired them with my newly acquired preowned Mcintosh MC452 and they finally sing like I knew they could. C22 commemorative preamp to inject a little tube magic and it sounds pretty impressive. My non audiophile friend was amazed by the “big sound out of such a little speaker”

I use an Audio Research Reference 150 with my Elipsa's. Although the amp stopped working last week and I'm sending it to ARC for repairs and an upgrade to SE.

I recently purchased one of the last demo pairs of the Amati Futura speakers. Now have to decide on Integrated, AMP/Preamp combo. I finalized my choices to the following:
EAR Yoshino 890 amp (70 class A watts, eventually can maybe add a second 890 for 140 watts) EAR Yoshino 912 preamp Primaluna EVO 400 Integrated or Amp/Preamp Pass Labs X250.8 or XA60.8 Trying to stay with tubes ideally. I had the Olympica 3 with the Primaluna HP Integrated before and really liked that combo. I also had the Elipsa SE speakers with the VAC 200 iq amp, and while I loved the Elipsa speakers, I did not care for the VAC amp (too aggressive for tube amp, solid-state sounding, just not my taste). Looking for any feedback or if any has heard the EAR gear or the latest Primaluna gear. |

I have not heard any of these amps, but I can tell you the Amatis like power. On that basis I would seriously consider the Pass X250.8.

I don't like the Audio Research sound, and I think McIntosh is ok but paying more for the brand than actually sound quality. I feel it is a bit overpriced with the competition. It certainly looks great though and has good resale value. |

I'm using Linn Solo mono amps. The Amati Tradition's seem to work really well with these. I'll note that I haven't tried other amps with them.

Agreed, they like power. While my former Audio Research Reference 75SE amp sounded sweet, my Ayre mono blocks really make them sing with gusto. Just my 2 cents.
