I searched for (in this thread) and could not find what is a "value" line mentioned--Cullen Cables. I have a quote coming from Patrick on a handful of power cords and a pair of crossover speaker cables. Also will be getting a PS Dectet.

After investing around 25K in "hi-fi" gear in the last handful of years I suppose it is time to get better power cords...and better speaker wire than standard monster cable.

Now am I convinced I will hear a difference? I say maybe...so far everything I have done to my system has made a discernible increase in quality. Mainly this has been major component upgrades. If I do not hear a difference I, as a poster on this thread mentioned 20 pages or so ago, will be the proud owner of something more aesthetically pleasing than stock cords. And yes I will proudly display the Dectet on risers of some sort, on the carpet, right smack center in front of my rack.

Waiting to get the quote on 1111.00 worth of stuff (5 power cords and the speaker cable) from Patrick. I know dependent on who knows what he considers...he at times has offered discounts of 15.00 total off, all the way to 15 to 25% of total order off. I know some spend that much or more on ONE cable. But is what I am willing to spend for now. (Edit quote received and disc was 6 to 7%).

Yes I like buying my DSLR gear, computer gear, bicycling gear, running stuff, even some Czech Republic Philatelic material, and of course vacations, and more too. And I have a decent project/contract manager's job...and it never seems to be enough.

Good stuff in life is fun....but at times that cost component......

My MC275 - definitely did not benefit.

Earlier this year I bought 3 Gold Series from Patrick. They are very well constructed but I heard zero difference when I compared them to Pangea AC9 and Stock power cords. I just received a Wireworld Stratus 7 today and do not expect to hear a difference either. Could be my room, gear, ears but I just don’t hear a difference. Definitely improves the look.

I'm a believer now that I've done a few things regarding power. Upgraded power cords for my amps and preamp from Ivan. I grabbed a couple of PS Audio noise harvestors and got a PS Audio port today and installed it. Totally convinced at this point that clean strong power is making significant audible improvements in my system. It's noticeable to friends as well. I'm quite shocked actually. Anyway. Do it.

A strong foundation of dedicated service, upgraded outlets, premium power cords, and power conditioners is most definitely well worth the investment.

Maybe that’s why I’ve never really noticed a difference with power cords. My 2 channel and HT setup have had multiple dedicated circuits from day 1. I agree dedicated is the way to go! I may try the PS Audio harvester.

I'm running everything off a 20a dedicated, but only one. Maybe I don't have great power in Florida but my house is 99% solar powered which means I'm still on the grid. Whenever Elon gets around to shipping my powerwalls I wonder if there could be even more interesting improvements since I will be completely off the grid.

Once pot is legalized in my state, I have no doubt that this will 1) make the biggest improvement in my enjoyment of music, 2) provide a substantial increase in my waist line and 3) will render unimportant most other changes I could do to improve my audio system.

Until then some Johnny Walker Blue will have to suffice.

But seriously, my wife talks to me all the time about confirmation bias and how it can contribute to whatever argument a person wants to make and believe in. Taking her point to heart I can now understand why my liking the looks of big, fat hawser-sized power cables and interconnects contribute much to the increase in perceived audio quality.
