hmmm -- I have a VAC Phi Beta preamp, and I have never gone past 11:00 on the volume dial, typically listen around 9:00-10:00. I'm using it balanced to boulder 1050 monos then Focal Scala speakers. I do have to goose it a bit more when listening to vinyl w/ the VAC internal phono stage, but still never past 11:00. (phono comes from Ortofon 2m black MM cart)

Thanks; a long time in the works. I just call it the way I see it or as experienced. I believe KH is overtaxed -- waited 2 months for an 'inhouse' black face plate; phono settings weren't as discussed for the cartridge I was using (received standard loading, etc) but was okay.

The volume started IIRC around 7AM -- CD's fairly loud were at 2PM, vinyl at 3PM, maxed out was around 5PM.

Something just wasn't right -- I like VAC, but not in this house (is all I was trying to say; probably was a bit harsh I guess).

What are the dimensions of your room. I am considering Sasha 2's for my 12 x 16 x 8 room. Did you do any treatments to the room itself? Thanks and beautiful system.

Back wall 185 inches, length is 20 feet w/9 foot ceilings. No treatment -- I stole the room from the wife and well, the rest is too painful to discuss even over a beer.

My Conrad-Johnson LP 140 monos with KT120s now installed are flat loud at one quarter volume into the Yvettes, and that's in a 20x30 room with 12 ft ceilings.

Tubes are special.
