Rel subs rare on used market
Either they don't sell many or the people that buy them keep them. I've been looking for R-328 for 4 months and haven't seen one come up for sale.

I sold my Rel B1 on craigslist last summer for $1500. If I ever get another that won't be the brand I'll be seeking out.
This JL F212 has my interest.

I was never very happy with the results I was getting from my Rel. Part of the problem I'm sure was the awkward room I was trying to integrate it in to. It was boomy and uncomfortable for me sit in this particular room for long. I ended up usually turning it off.
If I was ever to try again I would want to give it a go with the JL because this is the one that many here have had great satisfaction with.

I have been debating whether or not to sell my pair of cherry REL B2 subwoofers since I purchased Wilson Audio Sophia 3 speakers in December. I currently have the RELs switched out of the system and am satisfied with the S3 bass response ...... On the other hand, the REL subs add a dimension to the music -- especially at lower volumes, kinda like using them as a loudness switch when the girls are asleep. I keep thinking about rolling the 2 Rel B2 subs, power cords, and C2300 towards a used C500C/P (or T)

My REL G1 integrated much better than the JL, Martin Logan, or Definitive subs I tried. I still sold it. I just don't like subs in a 2-channel set-up.

I just bought a R328, but I got my dealer demo and they took my 18 month old T-7 in trade.

I realize this is an older thread but I thought I'd raise a potential strategy for comment. My current 2-channel rig speakers are Spendor A6 which I generally enjoy listening to stand alone 90% of the time, mainly jazz. Where I think subs might help is with compressed recordings, certain classical and selected Ray Brown albums where I suspect I might be missing something.
I have always been a listen before diving in kind of person and my first listen to a serious sub was a REL-T5 which after experimenting with it for about a week, decided it was not integrating into my system or room, even after moving it about and in different corners. My listening room is 22" X 12" and I have been forced to locate the system on one of the long walls. I have recently purchased two Velodyne DEQ-8R, small 8" subs with automatic EQ for experimentation. My speakers are about 10' apart and I've treated the room with acoustic panels to even the response a bit. My thought is to locate these small subs either inside or outside of my speakers. The benefit of remote control on these subs might make adjustment a little easier by ear. If I can integrate these subs into the room, it might just be the impetus I need to step back up to REL or JL Audio. Thoughts and comments about placement idea are welcome.
