Was that with mono blocks ?
I've been using the 8 ohm with jumpers from my MC462. Anyone else using the 4s ? |

Any thoughts on the minimum distance required between speakers for the 802d3?

I am currently eight feet between tweeters.
I had the 802 D3 in a smaller room where they were only 5 feet apart, the sound quality was still excellent, but the soundstage was all squished into a smaller space, and the height of the instruments was not accurate. By bringing the speakers into a bigger room and increasing the space between them, the soundstage is obviously bigger and the height and width are accurate now. My sitting position is currently about 9' 10" from the speakers. I just move them into this room a couple of months ago so I'm still tweaking everything. As far as the binding posts on the Macintosh 601 monoblocks, I have been using the 4 since I got the speakers, but have just been recently experimenting with the 8.

Hi guys, quick question on room size. My living room/dinning room is one open space with the dimension of 26 x 23. The main listening area is off to the right side of the room with a dimension of 13 x 23, with the speakers situated on the 13 side. My main listening position is 13 from the speakers, with speakers at around 10 apart.
Is my room big enough for the 802d3? Or should I consider going with the 803d3? Thanks for your assistance! |

Thanks for the reassurance! I will place my order soon and was undecided between 802 vs 803 due to room size. After years of using B&W speakers, finally going to own a pair of 802s, very excited!
