James.......Those three Bryston 28B mono block amps sure looked good side by side under the center speaker. I am a bit disappointed that the three writers did not give the electronics much attention.

One of the rules that applies at all shows is:

"If it sounds BAD its the electronics"
"If it sounds GOOD" its the speaker"

James.......Thanks for the inside track information. None the less, this is extremely narrow minded thinking. In my point of view, an audio system is a chain. The weakest link will always make itself known.

Magnepan made the right choice using the Bryston 28B amps. That decision was certainly not a casual one. They know the 1.7's need huge amounts of ultra clean power, and they realized that goal with Bryston. Congratulations on a job well done.

I think the second rule is that if it sounds good at a show, it will sound very good in most homes.

So there was a center used in the 1.7 room, I would be interested in how the exact setup would sound with the Mcintosh MC303 and C500. The Brystons sounded fantastic in the Thiel room too.

I would like to know when Magnepan is going to make them available for sale. Because right now they are not taking orders. according to their dealer in Winnipeg.

My mantra has always been "The Demo is Everything".

We can all sit around and discuss the merits and mechanics of this and that but it either delivers in the real world or it doesn’t.
