Default Color preference for new 800 Diamonds

After living with a cherry veneer finish for the last 8 years on my 800D, I'm thinking if I had to do it all over again would I choose cherry again ?

Any thoughts on the pro's and con's of Gloss Black and the Rosenut finish compared to the cherry.

I liked the Rosenut I had on my 802D's but the Gloss Black looks really nice too.

I have had the cherry 800 series speakers. I liked it. It aged well.

I currently have the rosenut. I really like this color. If I had to do it over, I would get the rosenut.

Both are really nice. i think the gloss black would be for a more contemporary decor. Keeping it clean might be an issue.

Hope this helps.

I also worried about cleaning the gloss black. I have rosenut, but I might do cherry if I had to do again.

Tough call but I think I would go with the Glass Black if there is no WAF issues.

There should be a 800/802 Diamond trading party.

Those who want Cherry, but have rosewood are paired up with someone else, and an even trade occurs

B&W in Cherry is the best looking finish IMO.

The WAF factor is not an issue.

I think I need to see a pair in gloss black.

I swifter weekly now on the marlan head, tweeter assembly and leather top, really not an issue.

The cherry did age well, nice patina.

Slight micro scratches may become an issue on the black, but there has been mention of using a good car polish on the finish.

There are numerous layers of lacquer before the paint on the 800's from what I have seen on the b&w website.

Black could go well with MC 1.2K.

Rosenut does look elegant, need to see it also.

I guess the question is what is the better looking combination with this new series; rosenut or gloss black and what will resell better a few years down the road ?

As with cars there is a color that looks just right.

Indy,

Re resale value: My dealer said the piano black is the best seller by far. It's also only available on the d2 series . I suspect it would be the best resell value.
