A stereo headphone output is also provided for private listening. TEAC’s AI-2000 is the rare component built for discerning audio quality without the stratospheric price tag to match. I mean to get a well regarded dual mono 150watt hk990 for $2400 let alone $13-1400 nowadays says seems suuper cheap, yet I chose/preferred a naim 60 watt amp for significantly more cash. I suppose that's why I posted earlier about concerns the hk would be like a receiver I got with "100some watts" that could barely drive my revel m20s.

Awesome choice. The Nait XS is a great integrated. Naim always pushes more than the specs would lead you to think.

I have a question about the Teac AI-2000 that someone here could possibly answer. I just bought one on Audiogon for $800.00. It was 2 months old, and bought from the store where I shop. The seller is upgrading to the AI-3000. It was a deal I couldn't pass by, even though it wasn't #1 on my list. The manual is lame. I called Teac last week and on Monday I posted the questions on their website. Neither got a response. What is the "Bypass" input. There is a video review on U-Tube where the guy claims that it bypasses the tone controls. But there aren't any! Also, what type of phono input does it have? Are there any adjustment for it? And to answer a question raised here, it runs very cool.

4to20tech.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado.

Here is the link to the TEAC AI-2000: http://www.teac-audio.eu/downloads/2...M_EFSGI_vA.pdf

You are correct that the manual leaves a bit to be desired. I suspect the Bypass is perhaps for home theater application and when selected the AI-2000 bypasses the preamplifier, the output goes to unity gain so that a surround processor front left and right output can be routed to the Bypass input on the AI-2000. That's my guess. About the phono, it has been my experience that a phono input that isn't specifically detailed as an MC or MM is usually a moving magnet phono input. Again, just another guess since the specifications don't offer any information about the phono input sensitivity.

Thank you Dan! That's the same manual that came with the amp. Still no answer from Teac. I also asked the same questions of an audio store selling a new one on Ebay.
