Yes, this my 3rd Wavelet since they first came out in 2015. First used with Legacy AERIS setup, then a bespoke build with custom CaliberXDs and dual Foundations and now my 3rd setup with Valor.

My buddy and I in St. Louis (see Steve's Vs virtual system on Agon and WBF) did the work to have HDPlex 300W and Uptone prototypes built that could handle Wavelet power spec and cabling about 5 years ago so I am no stranger to what an external power supply can do for Wavelet with a good umbilical!

While I don't stream digital into the DAC on Wavelet or use it as a preamp as I have transport, DAC and preamp feeding Wavelet, I do wind up using the internal DAC after the results of room correction must be converted back to analog to be output to amps and speakers.

It's a fine apodizing DAC and has great sonics!

Rick U, I am only using the Wavelet for the room correction for my Aeris speakers. My McIntosh MX 170 is for Dolby Atmos movies and multichannel music, which then goes through my McIntosh C53 preamplifier for my 2 channel sacd player and Roon for Qobuz and Tidal streaming and then into the Wavelet which goes my McIntosh MC462 to the Aeris speakers. By the way the Mac C53 DA2(digital audio module) sounds very very good, I am using a Shunyata Research Sigma USB with great results. In fact I am thinks of selling the Sigma and replacing it with a Omega USB, from what I understand the the Omega is quite a step up. As for my sacd’s I am using a McIntosh MCT 500 transport via MCT connection and the DSD titles sound amazing.

Coming into Wavelet on analog input, XLR or RCA, we still wind up using the internal DAC;

analog in => convert to digital

56-bit Room Correction in digital domain

D=>A step after room correction back to analog outputs to speakers/amps...

I had a dac and a nice pre amp and I thought the system sounded better even though it added an a/d conversation to the chain. After I added the linear power, I think the music sounds better going directly to the dac in the wavelet. If you haven’t tried this give it a try. Now I’ve been using my preamp only when I use headphones and my turntable.

Thank you, I have tried that in the past. With my Esoteric separates, to my ears, separate transport, DAC and preamp is my favorite.

Wavelet benefits from best input quality being fed in...

I also spin discs exclusively for best quality source mmaterial and so do not stream or have a server.

SCAudiophile, that is probably the weakest link in my system, I am using Kimber Kable Silver Streaks for my XLR’s from my MX170 processor to the C53 preamplifier to the Wavelet. That will be my last upgrade in my system as I plan to upgrade to the Alpha or Sigma series.

Good morning,..if you can swing it, i would definitely recommend the stretch up to Sigma V2 on everything you can. Alpha is a great cable series to be sure,...Sigma is that last important bit of refinememt and nirvana [emoji2].

I'm sure that since you'd literally be walking in decided based upon forum feedback and great reviews out there that a dealer could help you out achieving your goal with very little time spent...

Puma Cat, received the Omega XC power cable today, this thing is a beast, will get it installed tonight. Moving the Sigma XC to the Denali 6000 v2.

Can you give some advise on the ethernet cables? I am looking at upgrading the Ethernet cables in my system and needsome help.

From the wall to my modem>router, then I run a 50 foot cat6 to my the theater room up stairs to a Ethernet splitter.

From the splitter I run a cat6 patch cable to my AppleTV, a patch cable to my Roon Nucleus+ and a patch cable to my MX170 theater processor.

I was thinking of putting a Ethernet cable between the router and modem down stairs, and what would you suggest from the splitter to the Apple TV, Roon, and Mx170?

Any Help on this would be greatly appreciated

Well,..you asked [emoji2]. The beauty of it is, even with Alpha V2 as the destination the result would be amazing...
