Something to think about is to use a good linear power supply with your Roon Nucleus. If it comes with a Switch-Mode Power Supply (SMPS), it's less than ideal to connect an SMPS powered device to an endpoint/DAC with a USB cable. SMPS are bad at sending high-source impedance leakage current which causes noise on the ground plane and threshold jitter. One of the big advantages of using optical is that will not pass this leakage current.

Puma Cat, I use a HD Plex 300 LPS with the Roon Nucleus using the 19 volt input. I have a Shunyata Delta V2 NR going from the HD Plex to my Everest power conditioner
