I'm still waiting for mine, but sounds like I have some work ahead of me!

Super update Douglas.
Just curious about the size of your room.
It seems you've set up along the long wall and sit fairly nearfield.

Tunes, I found the long wall in my room just works so much better. That specific area very well acoustically.

The Strads sound very good on the long wall because the sidewalls are so far away. The speakers are 7.8 feet apart, tweeter to tweeter, and I my listening position is 8.5 feet from the speakers. My listening seat is 2.6 feet from the wall behind. It is a narrow room, but it works because of the length, which is about 30 feet, and its open plan to the entire house, which is why I get really good bass. Most of the speakers I had before in my room sounded a bit smooth, I suspect because of the lack of side wall reflections, The Strads have a super clean and transparent tone in my room, probably because of the wide baffle design, and thus the way it reflects sounds. It's an odd room, but somehow it just works so well acoustically. I have gone through a lot of trouble to create diffusion using side tables and other objects with a high WAF

Thank you, Tony, It's great to at last be in a position to only focus on the music.

Espen...We are fortunate indeed. I think the Strads will become an endearing audio classic.

I have worked hard the last few months to optimise the Strads further.

I decided to move the rack to the lower lounge with only the power amp between the speakers. I am not sure why I did not think of this before, the sunken lounge lends itself to this sort of setup.

Not only does it look much better, but also sounds better. The soundstage especially is much more holographic with noticeably more height.

I also improved room acoustics, the diffusers between the speakers make a big difference as well.

Loving the Strads more and more each day.
