I drive a bmw 335i with a chip upgrade. I recently rented a loaded Camaro SS for a week. It was a nightmare, in my opinion. That car rattled, it was noisy in every way, it felt like it was falling apart, and it had only 11k on the odo. Sure, it was a rental, but with only 11k miles, i have no idea how that can happen. Plus, you cannot see out of the damn thing, and it is an ergonomic mess. Nothing is in the right place (for me). To put down the back windows, you have two operate two different switches. Hellooooo what kind of design is THAT?? There literally isn't even a place to sit your phone in the car. Zero storage. On the plus side, it was pretty fast and it is definitely a nice improvement in handling over most American cars I've driven. When I got home and slid behind the wheel of my BMW it felt perfect. The car is literally an extension of me, like others said. The Camaro was the furthest thing from that, despite it being able to beat my BMW in a race. I'm never going back to an American car other than my classics (67 Camaro and 68 vette). Just my opinion. |

Congrats -- Love the Long Beach Blue Metallic and accessories you selected. Of course, add this, requires that. That, requires this. This requires that.
Sounds like the actions of an audiophile. Beauty though -- my BMW K1200GT is a Pacific Blue - similar to the LBBM. Best Sir, Bob

Color is called Long Beach Blue Metallic. This is an exclusive and optional color for the M2, however other colors are available. |

Oh, ok. All the M2's I've ever seen (there are several around here) are that Long Beach blue.

Close to 50% of all M2s sold are Long Beach Blue
The M2 is kinda the step child in the M family, a skunk works project - and deliberately crippled so it isn't a threat to the M3/4. So you don't get the (now standard) M wing mirrors (sometimes called Devil Ears), no Individual options and you get only 4 colours - White (basic), and 3 metallic options - Black, Grey and this Blue - Long Beach Blue. I personally prefer Estoril Blue which was an M specific color for a previous gen M3 - it is also a unique color for some M Sport spec-ed cars like the missus' 125i M Sport. Anyway - had to do a customer visit this morning - about 1.5 hours drive away so it was a great way to put it through the paces. A major part of it was on the highway so in the interest of varying the engine revs while running in, I kept changing down and up through the gears. And this was when I began to get a bit annoyed with the auto rev-match. Don't get me wrong - it is very very efficient. Far better than I could do it. Blip, clutch in, shift down and release the clutch. No heel toe. But in the process, I felt like I was just a trained monkey pushing levers and pedals. When I drive the ZF 8 speed equipped 125i, I use the shifter to change gear and it is very very similar in experience. You don't really feel as involved. I do wish there was a way to defeat it without requiring to turn off traction control COMPLETELY. :P Cant wait to run in the car ASAP. I really need to stop modifying the car.
