Emailed my dealer today, and they said Ayre is experiencing production delays and that "we're still at least a few more weeks away from shipping."

Geez.

Wow. What was the date your dealer ordered?

April 27 or 28 whereabouts, so basically two months ago.

The delays have been going on for at least nine months now. They need to get their shit together.

I agree. I think their problem is their growth. I don't think they were totally ready for how wildly popular their new products would be. I know they are working on several new projects in addition to the recently shown 8 series.

To me, there is no better value in high end audio than Vandersteen speakers and Ayre electronics. I do own both and ONLY because I was able to afford them (I pushed my limits BIG TIME) and felt they were worth it.

Takes nothing away from this thread or anyone's thoughts about them. They should have been ready and need to step it up. I think they will.

Default Joined KX-5 Twenty waiting list last week

I posted this at the VX-5 Twenty thread by mistake. Delivery is likely to be months away, so it's too early to think about selling the K-5xeMP.

That's great. Only thing you can do is be patient and keep enjoying the K-5xeMP, which is no slouch.

A blessing and a curse! I got word that my KX-5 is built but missing its clothes, basically. Ayre received a batch of black casework parts, and the side panels weren't up to their quality standards, so they sent them back to their supplier to get reworked. It will probably delay my ship date another couple of weeks, but at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Great to hear that it will be ready soon. Yes, they are very tough on quality there. More so than a few others I've heard about. Most of the bigger names can and are big on the quality finish of the cases as that's a trademark for them and can make or break the business.

Default Delivery time improving

Delivery time seems to be improving. The dealer emailed me today that Ayre is scheduled to deliver the KX-5 Twenty to them in a week, so I'll likely have it a week later. There is no Ayre dealer on the central coast of CA.
