I honestly still prefer the styling of the E31 850 platform from the 90's. Give me an 850CSi with a V12 and a 6 speed manual any-day over the new 8 series.

That's what I'm talking about...! Beautiful front, with a lot of purpose. Yes that V12.

Serge, if I can TC for a moment. Your photo reminds me of a time the wife and I were driving in our '87 Nissan Pathfinder back from Heilbronn to Stuttgart on the A81 in/around the 1989 timeframe.

I'm in the far left lane, doing about 90 mph, passing trucks and lorries (doing mandatory 80 kph or so) and slow vehicles. Always vigilant of flashing headlights from behind. I notice way, way back someone is hauling ass; headlights flashing as if they were strobe lights. Every few seconds I glimpse in my rear view mirror to check my safety cushion between he and I.

I finally pass a few vehicles and move out of the far left lane and slow to around 85 MPH. Within 10 seconds, that BMW 850i passed us so fast that as it went by, and now slightly ahead of us, the windows in the Pathfinder elicited a dinggggggggg. Similar to the sound of toasting with fine crystal.

Somethings you never forget & had to tell the story after seeing the pics you attached.

Bob
