Default The Nine Mid-Engine Corvettes that Led to the C8

`

" Famed Corvette engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov absolutely did not want to do the Wankel-rotary-engine-powered Four-Rotor Corvette project, which itself was an evolution of the mid-engine XP-882 prototype. "

Very interesting history... There is one that looks awfully similar to the Lamboghini Miura
(the silver one) and the long blue one looks like a Jaguar XJ220.

Detnews.com will be streaming the introduction of the new 'Vette at 10:30pm EDT tonight. The GM team will unveil the new version of the Corvette from a old WWII blimp hanger in Orange County CA.

The biggest surprise for me is that it will still have a starting MSRP below $60k!!. It looks pretty good from some angles but this view from the side and rear looks way too much like a Camaro.

This view looks good but also like just about every other super car.

Looks pretty..... small.
I wanted a corvette stingray. I sat inside and could see over the windshield easier than I can see inside. This looks no bigger. I settled on a 911 Turbo Cab. I sat in a few ferraris and they all have more headroom than the new stingray c7. Sports cars designed for street and track can accommodate a man wearing a helmet.

Absolutely no issue wearing a helmet in a C7. 5’10”...

Saw a new C8 driving towards the freeway this afternoon. It was traveling in the opposite direction so I only had a quick look. All black so I was hard to see the lines.

Since I live in the same town as the GM Proving Grounds I am sure I will be seeing several more in the next few months especially around lunch time and around 5pm.

This morning I saw another C8 heading into town. The color on this one is terrible. It reminds me of the Grabber Blue you can get on Mustangs.

agreed, Porsche has one very similar as well. All these various pastel / primer colors with a little gloss are the rage. Especially on trucks(Toyota) in desert tan and gray, not for me.........
