Amp recommendation for my "new" Amati homage!
Thanks everyone - I bought a super mint pair of Amati homage. They sounded great at the dealer.
Now I need an amp - and a pre amp or maybe preferably an integrated amp. I will only be listening to high quality digital downloads, or lower quality iTunes or streaming services like MOG or rhapsody. What do you recommend? Preferably I would get previously owned. I saw at the dealer used - Luxman l-590a, Macintosh ma6900, and someone near has the sonus Musica all integrated amps. Or a new peachtree grand integrated with the benefit of a great DAC. Or?? Tube or ss? Thank you |

Freestone.......You might want to consider a pre-owned McIntosh MC2275 integrated tube amplifier. This would make a very nice combination with your Amati Homage speakers.

I can think of several great offerings from conrad johnson.
CA200 solidstate integrated LP70s Tube power amp LP125m tube mono blocks Another interesting option is the Pathos Classic One or Pathos Logos. Both worked extremely well with my Amati's. |

I would think that the Luxman 590a II would be a very nice match to the Amati's. A very nice Class A integrated.

Big fan of the Pathos Logos integrated amp if you can find a used unit I will defer to others on the McIntosh integrateds being suggested.

Vtl 450s too much I suppose!
Boulder mono locks? Ayre v5-xe? All these pricey and need pre amp). Well Boulders not bad. Any suggested Krell, maybe integrated? 14x19 room. Low listening volumes. Classic rock, female vocals - jazz, opera. Nothing too far out there $$$ but great value! |

If you want a solid state integrated amp, try a used MA6600 (it sounded incredible with my Amati Futuras)

I'd go for the Peachtree integrated, a steal for the price. I thought it sounded terrific at RMAF with the Elipsa SEs -- a nice combination of neutral electronics and warm speakers.

That would save me a lot of money for sure. Better than the Musica? Good dac to attach too as well

I haven't heard the Musica, but I'm not sure the Peachtree can be beat for the price as a one-box solution. And if the Grand Integrated is more than you'd care to spend, there are a number of newer, less expensive models coming out.
