Bart and family have gone swimming in a mountain stream, complete with a waterfall, and I'm listening to music.
Listening to . . . . Russian Easter St. Petersburg Chamber Choir - Nikolai Korniev, Director Lovely a cappella Russian choral music, suitable for audiences of all ages -Or, at least, since it is sung in Russian, I guess it is OK for little children. It is very pretty, although unseasonable, since Easter was about 4 months agl.

Bart - pickin' and grinnin' in Tennessee
Lane and I invited Bart to come to Tennessee to listen to some of my fine classical music . . . and the whole time, all he wanted to do was listen to Country music and Blue Grass . . . right now he is listening to Alison Krauss and Union Station - Lonely Runs Both Ways . . and he is ENJOYING IT!!!! Wants to order it!
Three days in Appalachia and Bart is turning into an honest to goodness Belgian Red Neck. His wife and daughters can't believe it . . . they just shook their heads and went to bed. And, yesterday, all he wanted to do was go to Nashville and parade down Broadway, going from one country music honkey-tonk to another. I couldn't believe it, I thought he was a real European sophisticate.

Ha!!
As always, there is some truth in Julian's posts. Indeed we listen to Alison Krauss, and I do really like it. It's the first time I get to listen to a full album of hers and it will not be the last time. But... I also asked him if he wouldn't have some classical music in the house, to get some variety. 'Cause so far all we did was listening to Bluegrass, Dolly Parton, and the likes! Can you imagine my shock when I discovered the closest to classical he owns is... "The Best Johnny Cash Classics"!! ;-) Sent from my iPhone using A.Aficionado

Handel Water Music & Music For The Royal Fireworks
Easygoing summer Sunday morning here in Missouri...
Handel: Water Music Suites Nos. 1-3, HWV348-350 Music for the Royal Fireworks, HWV351 L'Arte dell'Arco (on period instruments), Federico Guglielmo (Direction) This extremely appealing music is hard to resist and is given an excellent period instrument performance here by Guglielmo and his perky L'Arte dell'Arco band. The CPO SACD recorded sound is very satisfying. |
