They are A/B so they run much cooler than Dan's Krell class A designs. The amps have no fans. He used specially shaped holes in the copper to create a venturi effect to draw heat away from the inside. I left them idling overnight by mistake and in the morning they were not hot but you could feel warm air being pulled up thru the copper holes.

Pretty remarkable design, especially considering their power.

I agree with you TommyC. This one keeps to focal point on the amp. Jim congratulations on those beautiful amps. I'll be watching for more of your comments.

They seem to be breaking in very nicely. I could tell right from the get-go that they controlled the low end of my MBL's better than the 1.2k's. On the other hand they are less forgiving with poorly recorded music than my Mac's.

I will provide more comments when I feel comfortable that they are fully broken in.

Jim

I can see how the looks of these amps alone would create interest. They are different very very classy, elegant.. and you just sense that they would be musical as well. I don't know I've never heard them myself, but they certainly look the part. Much like Burmester look the part....

I'm curious if anyone had noticed how 'trends' seem to evolve here?

Currently, there seems to be a trend for these Dan Dagostino Momentum's.

Just previous to that we had a Burmester trend and a Shindo trend...

We've also been having a rather steady trend in Sonus Faber speakers, especially after Ivan got into them...

Not suggesting anything in particular, but as I psychologist I do find it intriguing... then again, maybe it's just me...

Rock,

I've picked up on that. I guess there's safety in numbers plus we tend to influence our friends weather we know it or not. Hey, I don't mind and actually like it because look at all the great stuff we get exposed to - it's amazing and I live through many of you guys to see what I want next.

Burmester, Sonus Faber and even Shindo has been around for quite some time. The D'Agostino are brand new this year. I think I was actually first on AA to have heard them and reported back. It just took me a bit longer than usual to squeeze the trigger due to the price and the fact I was already happy with the Bryston/Sonus Faber I had going in my theater. Of course you are going to have trends when there are a few or more members enjoying a particular brand just because you get to hear their feedback which sparks interest followed by an audition, followed by a purchase....
