Too bad I didn't see Diana Krall in a venue with crappy sound, then I wouldn't have had to walk out early.

Okay, back on the subject of this concert venue..........

I was at a HiFi store in Atlanta yesterday. The owner had gone to this concert. He said it was horrendous sound. His tickets were 2nd row.

Stadiums are notorious for bad sound and I personally avoid those venues for that reason. According to this fellow, who has been in the audio business for years and knows good sound, this concert was ridiculous. I’d say they have seen his last ticket purchase. With ticket prices what they are, I’d sure keep my money until they get the thing fixed (if it is possible to fix).

Gary,
Your dealer's experience at the new Atlanta stadium sounds like a lot of others. That's too bad. Considering the insane amounts charged for concert tickets these days the sound should be perfect. Unfortunately, it's more about the show than the music.

I'm not a major country music fan but the best sound I've ever heard at any concert was Kenny Chesney at LP Field (Tennessee Titans) in Nashville. We have attended several rock concerts there and not a single one was even close to the sound of that event. It was goosebumps good. I've had similar sound experiences at other country concerts. Country does sound far better than the rockers. That said, we no longer attend stadium shows either. It's just too much trouble and too expensive for the experience.

Garth is a country music superstar with a huge fan base. Not everyone’s cup of tea obviously but that could be said for any music. Nothing is universal.

I sat through an Eagles concert in a new ice rink arena and my ears were bleeding. It was the first show and the sound was simply awful. It happens.

Went to another concert there two years later and it sounded great. Yes, they installed huge panels and curtains in the rafters to reduce reflections. I am sure Atlanta will figure it out.

Indeed. I just read that his salary is $46,000.00 per hour. Every hour of every day. 365 days a year. Just a guess on my part but I'd say he's onto something.
