Default Tidal Impact on My Purchases

I was sitting here listening to a Tidal album this evening and was curious what Tidal's impact has been on my Amazon music purchases this year. I was stunned to look back and see that I have only purchased 1 CD and 1 LP from Amazon. In addition I have purchased a few from HD Tracks and some MQA titles from Hiresaduio. I am so pleased with SQ and the integration of Tidal with Roon and Sooloos that I don't feel I and missing anything save for the security of knowing I actually own the music. It is just too easy to tag a Tidal album (in Roon or Sooloos) and see it integrated with my music collection on CD's or Hi-Rez recordings.

It is good to see that Onkyo is now selling MQA titles which I will be selective in purchasing and adding to my collection going forward.

It's having the opposite effect on me ... while I am tagging a ton of songs and love the integration with roon ... I'm either buying the hi-Rez downloads or Vinyl when I can find it. Added over 100 new albums via these two formats this year so far. i don't mind buying when I know I love the entire album. I do use the tidal app a ton in my car too at the total expense of XM Radio.

Same with me, until Tidal started skipping and lagging. I then turned to my 12TB of FLAC files on Roon and Aurender. I hardly ever use Tidal now.

Also the opposite for me. I find I’m more likely to use Tidal (and Qobuz) to listen to something to decide if I like it enough to buy it. I’ve purchased several cds and downloads that I might not otherwise have taken a chance on.

Yes, this is me too. Plus, I don't buy many I would have.

I have not purchased a cd in over a year. I still buy vinyl and HD downloads however I agree that streaming from Tidal accounts for most of my listening of new music these days.

The only time Tidal has ever skipped on me is when it is re-scanning my music after start-up.
