Hey guys. Need a little help.

Finally getting around to installing the Ultra SS to the Martin Logan CLX. Going to attach 2 pics. First is with the adapter reasonably snug to the CLX female. (somehow that sounds wrong ) The second pic is attached with the Ultra SS not touching the CLX. Just the adapter in...

The instructions say pic 2 is correct but it sure feels more solid with them snug.

Thoughts & help?

Timobi.......I had the same question when I installed the Ultra SS footers on my MC2301 power amplifiers. I initially snugged them up to the bottom of the amplifier, then asked if that was correct. I was instructed to slightly loosen them from the amp.

Looking at your second photo I think you can screw the Ultra SS back up to the speaker base, then back it off about one/half a turn. That is how I did the amps.

Thank you Dan. Appreciate it!

The hat is supposed to be screwed in tight even though it still can fit a business card?

The hat should also be backed off slightly, not snug.

Smile Ultra SS on Soulution 750 Phono

Guys:

Had a great day. I had HRS nimbus couplers under my phono stage. New to Stillpoints. Bought 3 Ultra SS with bases. We first placed on complete side of a Sinatra Base album. I one of my buddies is very skeptical of these tweeks. We then installed the Ultra SS (3) under my phono stage.

Within seconds of playing the same LP, it was completely OBVIOUS. Sinatra's voice was much more pleasant and rounded, there was no more brightness to the Basie horn section. We heard instruments that we did hear before.

We were Floored. Just wondering what the Ultra 5 and 6 can do. Going to try the Ultra's on my Accuphase C-3850 line stage next and my A-70.

Wow!!!!

After spending 2 weeks with the Ultra 5s under my pre and amp, I am sold on Stillpoints. I will be ordering Ultra SS for all my components. They are a must.

They are amazing, and the results require no break in.

The fun part IMO is moving these around under the power supplies, transport etc of the component. Also consider your P10, I experienced great results, although everything is sitting on HRS platforms and believe the granite contributes more as it’s a solid surface opposed to wood.
