Default New regional audio show in Tampa Feb 2019

FYI, some members of the Suncoast and Sarasota Audiophile Societies have joined forces to bring a new high-end audio show to Tampa in Feb 2019... https://floridaaudioexpo.com

Although not (yet) on the scale of Axpona or RMAF, they already have a large number of major exhibitors lined up. Given the ongoing demise of brick and mortar audio stores, this should be a great resource for audiophiles throughout Florida and the Southeast.

I hope Ivan will reach out to the event organizers to get McIntosh and other manufacturers on board!

The exhibitor list looks like Suncoast's line card, NTTAWWT. There's not really much else so far. I assume you are referring to as yet unnamed major exhibitors.

Do the organizers have any experience in hosting shows? After the recent and expensive LA debacles, it's a valid question.

Full disclosure: I am a long time customer and friend of the organizer. Before he was in the audio business he started and built several companies. He is a true entrepreneur. Pulling off this show will not be a problem for him.

Very nice to have a show in Florida in February.
All shows have to start somewhere and most shows are driven heavily by dealer participation.

Most of the shows that have not been sustained over my 43 years in the high end business were started by successful entrepreneurs with other areas of expertise. Hence my concerns with there being serious successful show experience on staff.

A journey of a thousand miles start with a single step. This is good for the Florida and southeast guys. I do hope that they succeed.

Of course it does. The journey is typically easier, faster to the destination, and likely more successful with an experienced guide. That is my one and only point.

You are prejudging their abilities. Just give the guys a chance.

It looks like the show was a complete success. Thousands of attendees including young first-time attendees, and high praise by all (including press). And much praise to the first time organizers! Well, well!

A big +1 for this. After the debacles in LA and the demise of audio at CES, this looks promising.
