I bought mine NIB a few years ago from a authorized Anthem dealer. It has gone though a few software updates since then and still exhibits the same 2 types of problems (HDMI handshaking and remote control issues).

Periodically the HDMI video input will turn the display a cartoon Green or Red color. I have never had this problem with any of my other HDMI devices. I have a $29 remote-controlled mono-price 1080P 5-way HDMI switcher in my office that I use for work (devices are changed often) and it has never had these types of problems. If a $29 switcher works 100% of the time, one would expect a $7,500 switcher to work as well.

Periodically, when I use the remote control to power down the unit (logical power off), the unit switches to Zone 3 and doesn't power the unit off. I have to physically cycle the main AC power on the back of unit to reboot it and get the ON/OFF functionality restored. Power switches are not that complicated and have been a basic feature for decades.

Both issues have been reported to Anthem and both problems still exist.

This was my first Anthem piece (presumably a lemon) and probably my last, YMMV.

P.S.
One other issue, when going into the configuration menu tree, the onscreen menu is periodically lost (changes colors or disappears). Being such, I can't rely on the configuration menu functionality. I resort to the front panel display to back myself out of the configuration menu.

I'm new so I can't start a thread. I own Paradigms. May I ask Paradigm questions here?

WELCOME TO AA!

This is a Paradigm thread.

I don't see why not. What do you want to know?

Have you looked here: http://www.audioaficionado.org/paradigm/

You might find your answer already there!

I need to tap into your wisdom.

I am in the process of upgrading my home theater system. I bought a package of Paradigm speakers as follows:
Two Studio 100 v2
Two ADP 450
One CC 450
One CC 370 v3

I already have an older Veiodyne 10" sub.
My combination living room/dining room is 12 feet high, 21 feet wide, and 35 feet long. The flat screen TV and Studio 100s are centered on the 21 foot wall. Seating is about half way down the 35 foot wall. My immediate goal is a 7.1 system.

Where do I place the ADPs?
I obviously need another pair of speakers and I'm not afraid of older Paradigms. Given the room size and types of speakers I already have, what would be your recommendations? I'm looking at a pair of LCR 450a. And, where should I mount whatever you happen to recommend? Believe it or not, about the only wall space I have for mounting speakers on the 35 foot walls is at 10 foot and above.

Thank you for your time and your help.

Which do you think would be the better sounding arrangement:
1. An Anthem mrx 1120 or 720 receiver.
OR
2. An Anthem avm 60 processor with an older mca50 amp for the mains, center, and rears, AND an even older mca5 for the remaining channels. AND, will these connect properly to each other?

I have Studio 100 v2, cc450, ADP 450, Studio 40 v3 for the rears, an older Velodyne sub, and looking to expand to Atmos.

Thank you.

Agree. Plus, having separates allow you to upgrade the digital preamp as needed (digital technology is changing all the time) and keep your amps longer (amp technology does not change the way digital preamps do).

Thank you. You guys gave me the direction I needed.

By the way, is there a "classified" or "for sale" section in this Forum?
