Default In house table setup in Colorado Springs?

Hello,

I’m looking for someone to come to my house and setup my turntable and go over the in and outs of the table as well. I have it up and going but I think there is room for improvement. Table is a VPI Prime Signature.

I’m in Colorado Springs and of course am willing pay, my local shop doesn’t come out.

I would send Ivan a message. I think he has a guy who travels and sets up carts/tables. If Ivan uses him then he must be good.

Out of curiosity, which cartridge and phono stage did you get?

Cheers

Nice system! Congrats on the purchase!

If it proves to be too pricey, the good news is that VPI tables are fairly user friendly. It has been a while since I looked but I remember there being some super helpful setup videos on youtube for VPI turntables.

Just be super patient without any distractions if you decide to set up the cart yourself. It doesn't take much to accidentally damage a stylus.

Michael Fremer also has a dvd on setting up carts. One good piece of advice he always gives is to make sure you roll up your sleeves or wear a t-shirt so your sleeves don't get caught on the needle.

If you need advise, I'm sure there are lots of members here who can help along the way...

The right tools help take the unknown out of turntable setup. For slightly more than the cost of an entry level HO MC cartridge you can have the tools you need.

To the OP:
if you are willing to pay somebody to fly out to your place and set the TT up only, why don't you go all the way and hire someone like Jim Smith? Not only can he set up your TT but he can help optimize your entire system. It will cost you a few dollars but he can do the whole "voicing" thing (whatever that entails I am not sure). And maybe you know of another friend who might need help optimizing his system and be willing to share some of the costs.

Is Jim Smith still an option for those willing to fly him out? Nothing on his site about in-home consulting/setup.

Yes. He calls it RoomPlay. I know that he has helped others from a different website so I suggest that you contact him directly. He has also provided remote assistance to some folks.
His website is www.getbettersound.com
