Bill with Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera a week before he rid himself of his furies. This and Turn Out the Stars and Jarrett's Blue Note are fun to listen to straight through. Duplicate tunes played on different nights are never really truly duplicates.

Sonny Rollins - Way Out West

Just rereleased on Qobuz.
I compared with my CD, which was a recent remaster, and the difference is enormous.
The stream wins on all aspects, with a wide margin.
Shocking...
I don't know what they did, but this 61 year old recording sounds freakin' great!!

Laurie Anderson & Kronos Quartet - Landfall

Weird mix of strings and vocals/keyboards/percussion/samples that somehow works.
Anderson composed for the Kronos Quartet.
Good workout for your system as there is quite some deep bass.

Duke Ellington - The best of - 1932 - 1939 Volume 2




What a productive period he had in these 7 years, even with the great depression.
He remains the number one jazz composer for me.
