I'm using it with a pair of Altec M14's. I've also used it with Tannoy Devons, but the Altec combo really works. Incredible bass authority in such a low wattage amp.

I'm having larger cabs made for the Tannoy drivers to take "full" advantage of them. That is something I'm looking forward to hearing.
Very cool. Is the 45 PSE 5 watts or so?

have a Firebottle purchased in December 2018 and a 3.1 that I picked up in July 2019. I run a pair of Spendor LS3/5A’s with superb results. I roll tubes from time to time, but I seem to have settled on the KT-150’s.

Thanks Ed. I'm planning to downsize my rig to flea power and full range drivers.

Psvane EL34B and some 6N3C that a friend told me about that he likes. I wish I had patience. Your giving good advice LOL. I will try 6N6C tonight with some Klipsch K510 horn speakers that I made. The F15s are down for renovation. I took them out of the small baffles to see if they would fit in the new baffles before I started painting

Yes, the 6SL7 is what I was referring to as the input tube. Choosing a rectifer is a trial by ear endeavor.

Maybe a touch less. I should actually put it on the scope and see. It drives the Altecs close to ear splitting levels. I was kinda shocked.

The 14 is rated at 96dB. I would expect a 45 PSE to run at 3.5 to 4 wpc. If we go with 4 wpc, each speaker is giving 102dB peaks. Two speakers 105dB, probably 95-99dB at the listening position.

Yeah, loud.

Yeah, I looked back through my emails with Dennis. He calculated 4.5w

Believe it or not, my son likes to mix his future bass compositions using the PSE 45 and the Altecs. He says it just sounds the best.

Sorry for the delayed response. I’m using Martin Logan Spires. The fire bottle kt88 drives them effortlessly. They have their own amps to drive the woofers. So the amp only drives the CLS panel. Tubes and electostats are a match made in heaven. Would the panels benefit from a larger tube amp, yes but the speakers are in a small room and I listen at very moderate volume levels.

This was a follow up question about what is “new on the horizon” at Inspire. Dennis new CJ5 preamp is quite excellent. I will write something up about it soon. As for amps, last I was in Cary, Dennis was contemplating a Super 6V6er. A ‘no holds bared’ top of the line Inspire. I wonder if he is still thinking about that?[emoji848]

I started an open baffle topic in the speaker thread.

Does anyone know if a Inspire Universal will handle 4ohm speakers?
Thanks,
