Default So what's happening New Years Eve?

Some people just hang out at home and watch the ball in Times Square on television. Some folks don't even do that and just go about their normal routine like any other evening, going to bed well before midnight. Other folks like to get wild and crazy, partying 'til the cows come home. So, what are you up to this New Years Eve?

I drink 364 nights a year, so since it is Amateur night I will stay in and off the roads, and eat great food, party with the wife, tunes a blazing etc, what the Tube etc.

Sometimes we have our own mini ball drop from the Irma hotel in Cody WY.

But hell most times it is like 20 below zero, but I think this year a nice warm 20 above

I did this a few times before my son was born: "Other folks like to get wild and crazy, partying 'til the cows come home."

This year I told my wife to go to Chicago to enjoy herself and I stayed home with our 3-year old. And since I don't own a TV I will not even see the ball drop. It will definitely be like any other night but it's all good.

Carlos.......I am in the camp of those who could care less. It is just another day on the calendar. I'll be home where I am safe from the revelers and drunk drivers and will probably be up for midnight but that's usual for me anyway. My biggest issue is remembering to write 2014 on my checks.

Good thinking, Dan.

By the way - you still write checks?

We observe New Year's but in a fairly subdued fashion. We go out for an early dinner with friends, then back to our house and play cribbage and music till midnight. And if it's not too cold there may be an XO and a cigar on the patio..if it is too cold, just the XO in the house.

This year we are in Paris. Depending on the weather (forecasted to rain later today), we may head over to the tower - no, they don't do fireworks for New Years.

My wife and I are going to a local Irish Pub. Good food, live music and after watching the ball drop, we'll step outside to see the fireworks. Then we'll stagger home...LOL.

Happy New Year everyone!

The same as we have done on New Years Eve for a long time. Nothing special.

Since we were out of town until last evening we pushed the annual party we hold for several of our neighbors that normally occurs between Christmas and New Years to this coming Saturday.

On New Year's Eve, we go over to a friend's house where there is a small gathering of people.

We do it again on New Year's Day at a different friend's house.

Both are very mild get-together's.

I would rather stay home tomorrow....
