I have a Maxx3/Thor combo system. I believe a dual Q15/Q5 would be very competitive with it in terms of bass output. I believe Magico speakers ideal for subs because thy have natural non "hi-fi" bass. This type speaker is perfect for a well designed sub. However Magico's are so "good" only a Magico sub would ever work with them. Now you have two subs! You M owners are so fortunate.

I will be using Entreq AC wraps around each of the 5 sets of Transparent cable that connect all of the modules...just to see what happens. Less EMI/RFI might help reduce distortion even more. Meanwhile, would love to try the Wilson Active Crossover with great sub to see what happens to my X1s. Certainly, they were designed to be used with the Wilson Active Crossover...I presume you are using it with your Maxx 3s? Fantastic speaker setup! |

Always interested in hearing about other people setup their subs. At the moment, I leave my X1s running full range, and then have the Sub cut off above 39hz with a 48db slope. |

Yes, I'm using a Pass Labs XVR-1 with both high and low pass set at 29 Hz, 12 dB/octave, medium Q.

Took a lot of experimentation to come up with those settings - they weren't intuitive to me to say the least. But yeah, sounds great and definitely better with the subs than without. FWIW, I'm using a pair of Pass Labs XA160.8 amps and an XP-30 preamp in this system.

Very cool ! Big fan of Class A amps that I have heard (Forte 4, older Krell FPBs and my old Gryphon Antileon and current Gryphon Colosseum).
