Default C2500 preamp tone controls

Does anyone know what frequency the attenuation/enhancement of the tone controls are based on?

It has db Plus or minus, but around what frequency? e.g 100hz, 50 hz, 25 hz?

Anyone have any idea?

Check out the owners manual. There should be a diagram.

I believe it’s 30hz and 10k hz.

all i can say is, that i love this simple tone control (have the same on my ma6700) instead of having a whole bunch of euqalizer knobs. plus i can use my remote for it (something you cannot do when you have a "full" equalizer).

I did check the manual but couldn't find anything.

That graph looks interesting but what does it mean if I say set the bass tone control to -6 db (which seems to interesect at 100HZ)?

Do I go to the -6db 20Hz line and follow that? Which has the 100Hz at about -3 db?

Citroen.......Yes, that is how the bass control is tapered across the range it impacts. The same is true for the treble control. To get any finer control over more specific frequency ranges you will need the eight band EQ found on other McIntosh preamps. Even the expanded EQ spills into adjacent frequency ranges.

This is the tone control curves for the McIntosh C52/

Ah, thanks Dan

Still a little confused as the graphs have -14 db at 20Hz

But the C2500 only allows for -12 db, not -14db. So here did that -14db line come from?
