McIntosh has started delivering MT2 turntables to local distributors in Europe. These units are for just customer demos. The release date is this spring. No price information yet.

I had chance to see and hear McIntosh MT2. It is a nice looking turntable. Platter and tonearm are black. There is green light under the platter which makes a nice efect. McIntosh MT2 uses Sumiko Blue Point No.2 phono cartridge. I cannot comment the sound, because this unit was taken straight from the box and it was not fine-tuned. They had just got it. I think that if you change a better phono cartridge, then you have a quite good turntable.

The official price is $4K -- I really like it --I think it is absolutely gorgeous and if I had an all McIntosh system (or majority of one), and wanted to upgrade from my whatever to a matching McIntosh entry level, this one would fit the bill.

I took a gamble with the MT10 in February 2008 - changed the cartridge on day 1 & sat back and smiled.

They should have had an option for the translucent acrylic platter like on the MT-5 and MT-10.
