Default MVP871_Problem with DVD-A disk

Hi guys
when playing DVD-A disk I have the following problems:

1.The player starts playing and after few tracks stops and all the commands are frozen. To to make it play again I have to disconnect the the power chord and reconnect it.

2. During normal operation if I want to move to the next track, the players stops and again all the commands are frozen and I have to disconnect the power chord.

This happens only withe DVD_A Cds

I would appreciate your advices and if other people from this forum have experienced the same problems.

I would like try the factory reset but I don't know how to do it.

Thank you in advance.

Harry

harry33.......Look on page 44 of your MVP871 Owner's Manual. In the lower right hand column is the Reset of Microprocessor instructions.

Thank u Dan,

I reset the processor, but no effect.I thought there is some factory reset to do. I really don't understand why the DVD-A disks stacks. All other disks, DVD,SCAD,Red book CD's work fine.

I've had a similar problem on about 4 occasions. Had to disconnect the power cord to reset. It hasn't happened for quite a while now.
Interested to see what you find out from Mac

That happened to me a few times but then it would do the same thing to CD-R's and eventually not play redbook disks either with the "NO PLAY" error message. This was over the course of about 3 months.

Eventually I sent it back to the factory (no authorized local shops were trustworthy at all) and they replaced the laser pick-up assembly. All has been fine since I got it back a month later.

I reset the processor 3 times( with the standby button) and many times via disconnecting the power chord. Nothing helps. This happens only with the DVD-A but I suppose later will do the same with red book CD's also. Here in Montreal there is an authorized shop but I'm afraid they could damage even more but I think, I don't have a choice. Thank you for your input guys. I'll keep you informed.

That's a pretty good turn around time.. Excellent.

I'm still don't know what is happening with my MX150.
