I have to say.... when I took my non-audiophile friends to an audio show.... their jaw was on the floor. They didn't want to leave the reference line burmester room. I have to say... They are definitely very very good Hi-fi speakers with modern and fast sound. Whether it is musical and stirs emotions is completely dependent on room acoustic. In "harder" room, they are good hifi speakers, can be a bit cold and analytical. However, in "softer" rooms, in my personal experience, they sound so sweet and warm. Taiwanese audiophile magazine gave them a rave review with a caution. They say with B100, you need a bit of absorption material or a softer room. Otherwise, it could sound cold and induce fatigue in a prolonged listening session. I have to agree with that. I have 2 different listening impression. One of the dealers in Taiwan did say that a full burmester system with burmester speakers, could sound too "rational".

I guess the way i would describe them is very good "hifi" speakers but they just did not pull me in emotionally Just my 2c.
Jim and I came to the same conclusion during the Cape experience... We enjoyed the SF more.... Well okay,... I did....

Recently I went to my friend house with my Devialet 250 to compare with his Burmester 808 MK5 and 911 with B100 speakers.
When we hooked up B100 to Devialet 250 (12,900€ ) and started to listen to my playlist , right away we noticed bright sound and lack of deep bass , mid was so so and n overall speakers were not impressive at all.
When we switched back to Burmester gear the things changed dramatically
The bass got reacher and deeper, mid fuller and highs sweeter.
I quite disappointed in Devialet , I have D800 in my setup and now I think of selling and moving to something else like Burmester.
